Some interesting side notes on recent closings:

Yanitizos - Years ago I used to work in this area and ate at Yanitzios...great mexican food and it was always busy. I read a while back that this guy and Violo barrios were original partners in their first restaurant and then split their ways and each started their own place. Even though I havent at there in years...sad to see it go.

Barbaresco - this place was a mystery and anomaly from the begining. It took years to construct and its over the top ornate construction in that part of town was always questioned. If you read recently in the express it was some type of money laundering asset of some reputed mexican drug lord. I heard it was really nice on the inside, but after that kind of press....business had to go downhill.
I ate at Janizito's once and it was pretty good, I know they failed many health dept inspections. I also heard about Barbaresco and the money going thru there, but they had lunch for $15 I was like no thanks.

Del Taco has sold all of its franchising opportunities for San Antonio. We may see them soon!

I think Del Taco is a step about taco bell, and they have some surprising good burgers.

Yeah. I wish they did. For now, have to resort to "escorting" some of the stuff back from East Coast trips!

I emailed the restaurant via their listed contact and was told that they are trying to determine if there is enough of a market demand to carry this product in San Antonio. I replied and told them that there would likely be great support but whether or not it happens, remains to be seen.
