My family and I went by the Hurricane Wings restaurant early this week and happened to drop in on their first day open. They were having an unofficial "soft-opening" and as could be expected, there were some kinks that they were trying to work out. The wings were good and the waitress was very willing to let us try different sauces so that was great! Still, I wasn't extremely impressed with the food but this may have had more to do with the cooking staff still trying to "kick" the training wheels loose. I totally appreciate that the staff was trying hard to be genuinely friendly and attentive, so, we will surely be back to give them another try!

I have to admit, I was bummed to find out that they were not carrying Yuengling beer as they said they might. However, according to one of the training managers and the owner, they may carry it soon to see if there is enough support to carry it on a regular basis.

Yuengling might be expensive if it has to take a plane ride to get here.

I bet it'll be cheaper to have it fly here than flying me there!

If y'all get them to carry Yuengling, I'll meet each one of you there and buy you a round. I really miss that beer...

My husband loves Yuengling. When our friend visits from Alabama (I think) he always brings a few cases for my husband.

Count me in the crowd that thinks Yuengling is one step above PBR. It must be an acquired taste.

Tejacienda at the Rim has been open a couple days now. Any word yet? I'll be going this evening, I'll be sure to review my experience here. It hasn't been as crowded in the parking lot as I'd expected, but it was Wed. and Thurs., and I don't think people knew it was opening. I'm guessing tonight I'll be one of many in the about-to-see-Batman crowd.

The menu on their website looks promising. Certainly not standard Tex Mex.

Going to eat at Corner Bakery Cafe today after work. It's in Stone Oak 1604 area! I was waiting for a closer locale. The other one is in the Quarry area.

Chicken was dry and beef kebabs was bland and salty. Tomato bisque was ok. Roasted veggies were great and so was hibiscus tea. So far I am not impressed, but will be back to check other menu items.
BTW: not all items on the menu are healthy ( chicken/tuna/egg salads with mayo, grilled sandwiches with a lot of cheese, humus ).
