I would get back on the phone and call them again. BB is NOTORIOUS for their craptastic service,, and YeS, that's craptastic to have that piece of equipment out there that is capable of doing that to your phone. Don't settle for that garbage from them....don't stop until you get some satisfaction.

I'm pretty sure the store would be at least partially liable for it since their associate took part. I would give them one more try and mention you're going to the local news troubleshooters if you can't get a resolution. I'm sure they would be more than happy to work this one since it involves smoke and high temperatures. That always looks good in the story..

I mentioned that....and they didn't seem to care. I even have video footage of the phone acting up just before it died - again, they dont' care. All they offered was a 50 dollar gift certificate - which I declined because I was so hoppin' mad!

hook them up then. I sent an e-mail to all three stations when I had an issue that couldnt' be resolved. A reporter at KSAT took up the case and resolved it quick. It never made it on air, probably because it wasn't as glamorous, but I think yours might be more attractive. The i-Phone is obviously popular and it would therefore attract more attention. I can see the flashy headlines now.. "i-Phone nearly burns woman alive in Best Buy store!"

I agree...call them back and tell them the local television new station wants the name and number of who they should contact for "their side of the story" for the segment they are interested in filming for their local news broadcast...I bet that will get them thinking otherwise.

Not to mention that obviously their equipment that is on display is faulty or hooked up wrong. I mean that's the point of having things on display--it's to test them out for customers. I wonder how many other customers out there have had this happen.

Here is my warning to you CD'ers....

Do not trust that the items they have on display at Best Buy (or anywhere else, probably) are safe to use.

DH and I were looking for an iphone/ipod dock/stereo so we could listen to our mp3's. We had a sales associate helping us and decided to put my phone on some of the display stereos that were hooked up and ready to use. The sales associate HELPED me set my phone in and - BZZZZT - the phone got fried! I mean crispy!

Obviously the iphone/ipod charger/dock was faulty. We took pics of the problems we exerpienced at the store (we tried to reboot the phone and it got stuck...) and video of it at home when it finally came online and I tried to charge it. The screen started scrolling and the phone got smoking' hot to the touch. Then it died - completely.

Best Buy says they are not liable for the damage done to my phone. I now have a very expensive paperweight.....

Please don't let this happen to you. Don't test anything at a store unless you want to risk it getting destroyed!
Do you have a relative or friend or neighbor who's a lawyer? A letter from a lawyer to a retailer reluctant to make things right can work wonders!!

I didn't personally try it, so this is second hand knowledge. I would check it out! Well, there ya go, a review!
I had their Chicken Yellow Curry and it was awesome. However, when I got home and binged the nutritional info on coconut milk...well, doesn't look like I'll be eating it very often!!
