So how often are the real updates? Is someone playing with those spaghetti models all day long, or do they still use the Hurricane hunters to take measurements, then update the models?
Just asking so I won't be glued to the monitor (laptop or tv) in case of a change!

I went to wal-mart earlier to get some basic "just-in-cases" and it was funny becuase for every 2 carts I saw people pushing with a case of water I saw 1 with a case of beer! Leave it to san antonio to make a party out of anything!!! lol.

That's actually an unusual ratio for SA. normally it's reversed.

But yeah, I am sure there will be tons of hurricane parties this weekend--I better go tell the utsa kid to be on the lookout! My boss left early in somewhat of a panic because he had to get to wallyworld..........probably for beer, though, not water. I'm just going to ride this one out with what I have on hand.

I ran to HEB to get gas and to get some Tylenol. Ha, that was a joke. Gas took forever. The store made the Christmas rush look calm. It was madness!!!!! Hubby who works in retail said one lady came in and bought every bit of Shiner that he had. Let's hope it does rain like mad and keeps everyone home cause there's gonna be a lot of drunks over the weekend!

Saw this on CNN and this might put it into perspective for those wondering how bad it could be here:

Hurricane-force winds extended out up to 90 miles (50 km) from the storm's center, and tropical storm-force winds extended out up to 205 miles (335 km), forecasters reported.

CNN is behind. The Hurricane force winds extend to 115 miles now and the eye is in competition with its self. Should the large eye win then the eye of the storm will be 100 miles.
