I've lived by this house for years, and I can't find any information about it.

Put this address into Google Maps and hit "satellite view":
4496 Stahl Rd, San Antonio, TX, United States

Does anyone know anything about the house at this address? It caught my eye because it is huge and frankly, it is out of place for the area. It looks like it has three stories (or maybe just tall ceiings for a two-story house) and I can see what I think are three chimney stacks from the road. I checked out google maps and you can see the property has several buildings and even a tennis court! From the road, you can tell the house was once really nice - big front porches and white columns. I can only imagine the house was pricey in its day. You can only tell it must be abandoned because across the top, you can see significant roof damage. It has a keypad and rolling gate to block entry (and the view!) from the street. Did rich people live here? Celebrities? Fallen politicians? Drug dealers?

This house has my imagination going - does anyone know what house I'm talking about? Does anyone know anything about this house?

Oh sorry - methinks I may have spelled it wrong when I searched the threads.

Okay, I can't find the threads... I'd like to think I'm pretty computer literate, but I can't see anything about this house, pictures or otherwise.

[Up by the search box, I clicked "Advanced" and narrowed it down to SA, and searched for "Stahl" - nothing relevant. Am I doing it wrong?]

RGJ -

Yeah, I saw the bird's eye view, and now I'm more hooked than ever... I'd love to poke around in there and take pictures! Property records indicate that at one time the property was worth quite a pretty penny... bcad indicates the house structure is now almost worthless.

Someone said there are more threads and maybe pictures about this place somewhere on citydata - but I can't find 'em.

Looks as if someone hit it big then went bust! Appears to have had a business run from next to home.

BCAD indicates there's a large barn and horse stable.....Also, when it showed the owner as NBC Incorporated, I thought that might be a lender, but the mailing address is the same as the property address, so that doesn't add up.

Also, NBC Incorporated has owned it since 1993 when it was built, so that doesn't add up.

so, the research continues.......
