I would recommend Schertz or Cibolo.

Just a strait shot down 35 for the commute.
I’d think she and her husband would spend 140,000 for a house if they liked it. I’d reckon she doesn’t really know the true value of her buck in real estate SA. As for Schertz or Cibolo, those aren’t any better in terms of commuting.

If she’s die hard about spending 250,000-350,000 then she’s better off buying at Briggs Ranch or Stevens Ranch or any one of those new developments in far west Bexar.

I can live with that.

I think it should be a given from now on to include crime, school, and racial make up to any person looking to move to SA so they can get a real idea of what they are getting into.
If they’re interested in those statistics all they have to do is simply ask whichever real estate agent they’re dealing with and they should then be able to obtain those numbers.

How many homes in San Antonio are 250-350 k and are in a high crime area? With that kind of price range more thank likely it's going to be gated and in a safe area.
Back to the subject on hand. In the North East School district, one of the better in the area you might like Oakwell Farms. It's inside 410 with convenient access to the airport, I-35, numerous restaurants, one of the nicest day spa's is in the Oakwell Farms Business center. Homes there range from Garden to Estate Size lots, and are anywhere from 1986 to open lots. Amenities to residents include clubhouse, pool, tennis center, basketball courts, walking trails and equestrian center. Oakwell Branch Library is nearby and the community goes to the currently recognized (but has been rated exemplary) Northwood Elementary school.

exactly but insomniac recommended a home for a measly 140k. that is run of the mill and plenty of new homes in that range are in unsafe areas.

The home I listed is in an area of the city that has little development which is why it’s that low, it’s a very safe area. You can also find 140 dollar homes in Schertz or Cibolo; it doesn’t mean they’re unsafe because they’re not.

Do you know how little that makes sense not only economically (gas) but logistically?

If the career is in the 410/35 area in southwest SA, then I’d suggest some of the newer subdivisions being built in that area. My personal suggestion would be Hunter’s Pond. Where 131,000 can get you a home like this -

You've got to be joking! A house that beautiful would be two or three times that cost even up here. Up until today, I didn't think there was any affordable housing in the southern part of the country. How enlightening and thank you for posting that pic.

Since he's leaving to work so early in the morning traffic won't be an issue..It will be after work but not before...So 45 minutes will give you a good range to that area. Look to pretty much anywhere along 1604 from 151 to Around Huebner rd. After that you may be pushing the 45 minute drive before work. Although right around huebner and 1604 (the vineyard) neighborhood is very nice check it out. Also check out Inwood on Huebner road near 1604 also. That is still in the NISD school district so you will have better schools than NEISD.
