I did a search before but I just found vampire like books and movies. Then hello! I my stuffy brain cleared up and I looked to the right to refine the search.

I tried to order my daughter a margarita at El Crapparel in Helotes after her high school graduation and they wouldn't do it. I didn't press the issue or anything but I thought it was kinda strange that even her parents couldn't order one for her. Heck, even her grandparents were there.

They must just "not wanna go there"--too many different last names, etc. I guess I don't blame them.....

I wish this had been around PRIOR to the Retama Park/thrown jockey thread. I made the mistake of reading it. There are things you know, but try not to think about.

There used to be a law that a minor could drink an alcoholic beverage as long as an adult was ordering the drink. I think it was left up to the establishment....like Bohanan's might allow a teenager to have a glass of wine with their parents at dinner.

My daughter and I were at lunch and she realized she had left her wallet in her car (I drove), so she couldn't order a margarita at ------. In a quiet voice I asked if that law was still in place so I could order it for her. She's 27...... This weenie of a waiter just got all loud and started talking non stop like a robot about how it was against the law and he could lose his job and the cops could come in and for all he knew I was undercover and ...blah blah blah. Omg.....I had to shush him ....my daughter was under the table laughing her back side off and I just wanted him to go away. Then the MANAGER came over and repeated everything before I could even explain! Holy doo doo. I politely explained that the waiter didn't listen to my question clearly and I was not asking him to do anything to break the law. I was asking if that policy was still in place. schnykies! Forget about a tip for embarrassing the doo doo out of the customers.
Back in school I had a girlfriend who was under 21 at the time but her husband was in his young 20s. They had to take their marriage certificate when we would go out as a crowd or even if they were going to dinner together etc. They rarely had an issue other than my girlfriend being slightly humiliated.

On a side note, six years later they are now divorced and she is remarried with a great hubby, two of those wonderful kiddos and a picket fence.
