There was a slice of onion controversy a few weeks back in the "last restaurant" forum.

Click link, scroll down to sides - see last side listed.

(Mama's Daughters Diner - Dallas, TX) (http://www.mamasdaughtersdiner.com/menu1/ - broken link)

I guess a slice of onion is a side.

Costco - $899.99 after $200 OFF Canon EOS Rebel T1i HD Video 1920x1080 DIGIC 4 Processor
We were looking at cameras a little bit yesterday and I remembered you had posted this in here. Is this a good price for this particular camera? I am TOTALLY "camera challenged" so have no idea where to even BEGIN to figure this stuff out.

Way too many levels of "messed up" in this story.

That's a good price. You can't go wrong with Nikon or Canon. When I was a photographer in the Navy we always used Canons, but I always wanted to own a Nikon. I personally think their glass (lens) is better and that's where it's all at, besides skill of course. I get American Photo magazine and they also rate the Sony cameras pretty high and a lot of the reviews on them are very favorable. That 4 Gb card is a nice gesture, but a joke for a 15.1 MP camera. It'll eat up that space in no time, especially if you go with the HD video option.

as far as that story.. I saw it earlier and had to stop reading after they mentioned about him doing all this to visit his dad in jail. What a tragic failure at all levels. The kid is screwed for life at only four years old

Folks interested in cameras. Wally world has a Nikon 3000d 10.2 megapxels, digital SLR for $499.00. Here's the skinny I found. 10 megapixels is all you really need. More is just overkill and takes up a lot of room in camera. Not necessary to have HD movie. Separate your cameras. Get a good Digital SLR without movie and then pick up a nice camcorder. The camcorder will get you better quality movies. the cameras are lighter and have less problems. If you have both and a problem arises you lose both functions. But if they are separate and one goes out, you have the other still working. I've been in photography since 1965 and I have always wanted Nikon, but could never afford it. I've had Canons and Rolliefex T's in the past. Loved both of them, but they were film cameras. I really like digital. Now I have enough pixels to make up to 16 x 20 print photos and that's the biggest I could use.

With the 3000d, you use the view finder and not the back of the camera. Take a pic and then the pic will show up on the back of the camera. You can go auto or manual.

The above photo was taken with Nikon and then loaded up to photobucket. I wish I could load a photo direct but cd doesn't allow it.

with Nikon 10.2 megapixel

Sanyo 7 megapixel

As you can see on the internet, not much difference. The difference is in publications and printing.

We also had a lot of the more specialized cameras, including some Leicas and Rollies. I loved film and still prefer it over digital, even though I haven't shot on film in over 10 years. I especially liked taking pictures of small parts and large format film. We had a Pentax 6X7 and Bronicas that could take all sorts of different backs. Too bad the Navy burned me out on photography. I always liked it, but couldn't handle it as a job. Now I just point and shoot with my SD550.

speaking of photography, there's a ton of them in these three parts.
2009 in photos (part 1 of 3) - The Big Picture - Boston.com

2009 in photos (part 2 of 3) - The Big Picture - Boston.com

2009 in photos (part 3 of 3) - The Big Picture - Boston.com

There's actually only 120, but they're quality for the most part and #39 is a killer.
