The only songs I think of when speaking of Michigan are the good ones. Like "Roll Me Away" and "Night Moves" and "Against the Wind" and "You'll Accomp'ny Me" and "Turn the Page" and.....yeah, Bob Seger fan.

So, I always get these mixed up....are you a "fudgie" or a "troll"?

a fudgie or a troll? Them's fighting words I think..

actually, I have no idea what you're talking about and Bob Seger is from where I'm from, Ann Arbor. He went to Pioneer High School, which I didn't go to..

IIRC--a fudgie is someone from the UP--supposedly there are a lot of fudge shops for when the trolls come up to visit and sightsee. Apparently they buy a lot of fudge? The troll part I think, comes from the fact that they are from the Lower Peninsula, maybe? So, a fudgie makes fudge, and a troll eats the fudgie's fudge.

Yeah, fightin' words, in Texas anyway.

And Bob Seger...... Love that guy.

This is a good read on Mel Gibson. I miss him on screen. The writer has a point.

Hey...if we can forgive all the other transgressions of notoriety (and the list is long)....why not Mel too?

re: the article.....said Mel hasn't starred in a film since "Signs" in 02, but I thought "What Women Want" was after that. I'll try to google that before dinner.....

Nick, I can see why you like Forever Young. That was a good movie. Braveheart is one of my all time favs of all movies. So much intensity and emotion through the whole movie. He didn't even get nominated for his part, although he did win the Oscar for best picture and was nominated for best director. The movie took a lot of awards that year. Not just everyone creates a classic! I put Braveheart in that category.

I saw quite a few movies this weekend and they ranged from the awful (Cabin Fever 2) to not too bad at all (Couples Retreat and Law Abiding Citizen). I really liked the premise behind LAC, but the end was very lame.
Spoiler
I was hoping to see a certain dog killer supporter get a nice head shot.
The original CF was OK, especially the explanation of one of the opening lines, but part 2 was just extremely tacky and very low budget. I also watched Gamer and the original Smoking Aces again. They're both very strange, but pretty good. Love Happens wasn't too bad, but definitely a chick flick. Anything with Jennifer Aniston is probably going to get a from me just because I love looking at her.

Well, I don't actually watch them in the traditional sense. It's more of a background thing, like elevator music.
