Saint Gerard's was and is a few blocks south of E. Commerce on S. New Braunfels at Nevada and it did indeed have a bowling alley in the basement. Although my family was Baptists many of my Denver Heights playmates were Catholic kids who went to St. Gerard's and took me bowling there a couple times. The school itself is alive and well but don't know if you can still bowl there.

Yep , haven't been past it in a while but assumed it was still there. Can't remember circumstances, but went there at least a couple times. Maybe early 60's. Baptists here too. Went to Hermann Son's Lodge to bowl around same time. Could still bowl at Herman Son's as recent as late 70's or 80's. Probably still can. They even moved up to automatic pen setters if I recall correctly. I've attended service at Denver Heights or we played Basketball if they had a gym.

Default Paul Alsbury and James Buffington

I attended Horace Mann with Paul Alsbury and Thomas Jefferson High School with both Paul and James Buffington. Paul appeared on America's Most Wanted, and my late father passed to me the newspaper article which described his capture in Las Vegas. I didn't know he committed suicide in prison until I bought his mother's book. I found out what he was about when I was conducting a training course in San Antonio with 2 National Guard Technicians out of Austin. While eating lunch at the downtown Fuddruckers, two San Antonio police officers who also were members of the Texas National Guard joined us. I asked the officers about Paul. They looked at me funny and asked point-blank, "Where do you know Paul Alsbury from?" I told them, and they went through why he was wanted by the authorities. Later, he was profiled on AMW.

James Buffington was involved in the murder of his wife. He also died in prison.

The interesting thing about this is that these were the last 2 guys I expected to get in trouble from this class.

Yes it is worth the drive, good stuff. The one I went too had a very 80's feel to it.

Thanks, Collogna's Pizza...yes that's it!

As far as the drug store goes, I can't be sure. I don't think that I ever paid attention to the name.
