Palenque Grill in Stone Oak

Got there at noon and there were 2 people in the entire restaurant! this was Tuesday afternoon. Notice that the plates that were on the table I choose to sit at were dirty. The waitress could not understand English and the food was pretty bad. The lunch specials were $8-$10. I looked at the dinner menu and saw prices from $15 to $19. I dont think I will visit this place again.

Marrs or nicks? Nicks won me on service. Was the pizza the best I ever had? Well that's debatable but it was really good. I would surely go back again and again.

made the drive north to visit the Salt Lick barbecue place. Worth the drive. Sausage, brisket were awesome. But not being a huge meat lover, I enjoyed the coleslaw and potato salad even more!

Bombay Hall. They have good chicken tikka masala, although I do need to get it mildly spiced.

We went to Salt Lick last weekend too! (Round Rock location). Loved the coleslaw and potato salad, too. But we were not that impressed by the meats (between us we had turkey, sausage, pulled pork, and brisket). They were OK, but seemed dry. Bill for 4 came to $80 with tip!!!

And you had to pay it with cash. That's a strange idiosyncrasy of The Salt Lick that will likely come as a surprise to newcomers.

No, even stranger that the RR location accepts credit cards, while the original does not!

Wow, that is strange. I've only been to the original.

yea, I couldn't understand the cash only thing either. Felt like we were doing some backdoor deal with the barbecue devil. Our bill was reasonable though because the kids' all you can eat was $6, while the second kid shared my plate. We thought the sausage was awesome...the pepper and spices inside...Yum. And I'm not a big fan of sausage. I was disappointed by the ribs though.
