Buffalo's Cafe, Bandera Rd. & 1604. My burger with mushrooms and swiss cheese was really good. DH had shrimp, liked it. But he liked the raspberry (I think) shake even better! Service was good...of course, it was afternoon, not busy.

While in Houston last week, I visited YAO
The restaurant, run by Yao's parents (father Yao Zhiyuan and mother Fang Fengdi), serves familiar Americanized Chinese food.

We had the Chicken Lettuce Wraps as the starter, followed by Special Shanghai Wonton Soup [Mrs. Yao’s Recipe], and we shared the Pecking Duck. To drink we had Peach Apricot Black Tea.

The presentation of the Pecking Duck was quite nice...the chef brought the whole duck to our table and carved it for us. It was deep fried and crispy, but somehow bland. It came with crepes and hoisin sauce.

The service was prompt and attentive, but the place was rather empty for a Saturday night at 7pm.

BTW: Yao Restaurant in Shanghai, which gets its fame from people believing it is connected with Chinese NBA star Yao Ming, closed last Friday, leaving dozens of unpaid, stunned employees standing around outside. (…) The business was initiated by Yu Di. Yu and Yao are both shareholders of Yao Restaurant and Bar in Houston, Texas. (…)The restaurant opened in 2006 as a flagship restaurant called Yeeha Texas BBQ & Sports Bar and Yao Restaurant in Chinese.
Yao Restaurant closes unexpectedly

Babbo NYC- 1 of the best meals of my year without question. Primi of black spaghetti with rock shrimp, spicy salami calabrese and green chiles. Secondi was a charred beef tongue with a grain mustard sauce. It was out of this world. It took tongue to unimaginable places! Seriously, the tongue was out of this world.

Can't wait to go back for the lamb tongue anti pasta & lamb brains secondi.

For Thanksgiving, a friend and I enjoyed the sitdown buffet at the YMCA of the Rockies here in Estes Park. The food for these special dinners at the Y is always delicious. We enjoyed it so much that we closed the place down and they nicely asked us to please wrap up so we could allow the other group to start seating...not because we were little piglets, but becuase we had such a nice afternoon of conversation and laughs. We took our time enjoying the different courses...the time got away from us. What a wonderful Thanksgiving we had!

Sit down buffet?

Is that like a late night wake up call?

Or a carwash that sprays dirt?

Or someone that ages backwards?

Or cat that says "woof"?

Went to the New Ruby Tuesday's tonight at the last minute. Won't go again without calling first but got lucky and only had to wait about 20 minutes and it was certainly worth the wait. The food was great.
