By July ??? How 'bout the middle of May ??? Top down only a little during the day (when it's really cloudy), you can still get a sunburn here on a cloudy day. AND most of the time during the summer, only after sundown. Trust me on this. You'll get through summer just fine. Also the sun and the heat pretty much eat up a convertible top in 2-3 years. .. It's been relatively mild the last two summers but when it decides to really heat up again, look out !!

depends on the convertible. my wife has a 2006 MX-5 (Miata) and it's pretty much blazing hot all the time because the engine is nearly in your lap. We took it yesterday and I was burning up even though the air was pretty dry and cool. totally fun car though and worth all the pain it causes

WEATHER ALERT
SLIGHT RISK TUESDAY
SLIGHT RISK (borderline moderate) WEDNESDAY

There's a trough out west which will cut off from the main jet stream. As it does so it will track into our area, dragging in moisture and generating plenty of lift. The ingredients are in place for large hail, heavy rain, and isolated tornadoes.

The best odds of seeing severe weather will be Tuesday Night and into Wednesday.

Yet another person considering a Miata... I test drove one and it was loads of fun. I have to wonder if the heat would be any different with a hardtop though.

Anthony, that is the FIRST time in my life I am HAPPY to hear anything with "borderline" in front of it! (Occupational hazard for a Psych Nurse!)
