My husband and I carpool from Corona to Santa Ana and Costa Mesa 4 days a week...The 91 is CRAZY and the 55 is only slightly better. To give you an idea, class for me starts at 9:30am and I would leave Corona between 7 and 7:15am. When we carpool it only takes about 45 minutes. The fastrak is good but Thursday afternoons it costs $9.75 and sometimes it is still running slow (granted it's not a parking lot like the regular 91).
My husband takes the bus or the train on our non-carpool days and his commute is only about 45-60 minutes then. Also, I would agree that Corona is mostly white and hispanic.

Hi, The 91 is underconstruction for 1 more lane each side right now. It'll be done in 2011. Till that time, the trafic is better.

From the naked eye, it appears the main industry in Corona is commuting to Orange County.

I live off the 1-15 and Temescal canyon rd in Corona on 20 acres. I work at home and in order for me to travel the freeway just to Norco has to be timed just right or I'm stuck in the traffic. The traffic on the 15 going north to the 91 is always backed up at the ramp going onto the 91. I usually will continue on the 15 to the next exit which is Hidden valley, get off there and then get back on the 15 going N to the 91 W if I need to travel the 91, which is very rare.

I love where we live in Corona and yet when you come to our home, you feel like you out in the country & far away from the town and track homes, but we're just 5 minutes to the 15, the Dos Lago shopping center, Glen Ivy spa, golf course, Tom's farms and grocery shopping. Alot of families bought these big new homes they built here in Corona when the real estate was good, but I wouldn't want to be them now.

Alot of homes here are in Foreclosure (I think last month there was over 2,000).
Where I live is perfect. No neighbors close by, (all 20 acres parcels), nature all around us and yet like I said earlier, only a few minutes to the chaos of Corona & the 1-15 freeway.
If you want to come home every night from Santa Ana in a bad mood and angry at the traffic, stay where you are. The only time the 1-15 & 91 freeway isn't backed up is.....never.

Take Metrolink. The only problem is the service is limited right now - no late nights and the frequency isn't that great either. If it ever got upgraded to run like a light rail system, Corona would be the perfect place to be (only an hour or so from everywhere).

Sierra Del Oro is a great part of Corona. It is right at the border of OC with easy access to 91 via Green River or Serfas Club. Good schools and a very desirable neighborhood. The area is elevated so relatively breezier in the summer.

Note that with the expansion of 91 to be completed in 2011, the traffic will be significantly reduced.
