Down in Mississippi we have rain. It rains so hard that you cannot drive even with your wipers going full blast. it is blinding sheets of rain. Dogs run, cats duck for cover and frogs strangle. Throw in thunder and lighting that truly rattle your bones and you have ....

R A I N

Here in California it's more of a social media opportunity....wait a minute is that something I hear outside?

Yes! It feels wet and sounds like pebbles on the roof. May the deluge begin!
I love your description of R A I N! I have only lived here and have not experienced any real R A I N!

It looks like most of it is still off the coast but heading toward us.

Yes, one of the radio stations this morning was doing a call in: 'Tell us what you're going to do on this rainy weekend.' LOL. Such a huge deal for so cal when it rains, even in non-drought times...

Reminds me of Steven Martin in LA Story, when the reporter asks 'What you are going to do in LA when it's 55 degrees???!!!'
The guy answered: "Close the windows and take the cat inside" or something like that..."You heard it folks, close the windows and take the cat inside."....

Seriously, though, flash floods are not ideal. Rain in increments is. (:
Yep, parking my car on the street for a free rinse from mother nature, too.

I love this weather for a change....everyone mellows out a bit, too, driving craziness aside.
Remember to check sigalert for situations...

Plenty of rain here in Carmel Valley so far. On and off but coming down good when it does....

This is like Disneyland since we really get no "weather". Sunny and 70 degrees year round at the coast most of the time. Of course I don't want people to have flooding and problems but this is very exciting to even get rain! We are in "extreme drought" conditions. For that reason alone I am thrilled we are getting rain!

In San Diego we have had 3 inches in the past 12 months! No Bueno! We will hopefully get that much
this weekend! Ideally we would get one inch a week for the next 12 weeks but it does not work that way.

I am so happy it is raining!!! Think of the farmers in Central CA letting their herds die because there is no grass to feed them, letting crops die, grocery prices going up. Rain is a good thing!!!
