Weather can't be beat (as long as you don't stray too far from the coast), it's not nearly as congested as Los Angeles-but (if need be), Los Angeles can be a day trip, pretty laid-back town, lots of jobs (at least in my field), oh - and Real Estate has significantly added to my net worth - that wouldn't have happened at all if I was still living in the Detroit area.

Weather/climate. Mid-size city. Ocean. Natural areas.
I wonder if global climate change is starting to kick in with this recent humidity or if just spurious here.

Weather, the beauty (the coastline along SD in most parts is spectacular), gorgeous women, and endless amounts of stuff to do.

The weather/climate. Beautiful scenery and you can't beat the food. There's always something to do and you're never too far from beach, mountains, trails/hiking.

You can find good enough food, but it can be beat.

I didn't see it, but from a friend who did and news reports, seems like he was sort of hopping up the coastline from Cardiff Reef to Suckouts, heading towards Pipes when they dragged the balloon on to the beach. The lack of wind stranded the balloon out there over the water.

The beautiful scenery and beaches, the laid-back lifestyle, and the weather (minus how dry it is--I wish it rained more). Oh, and the Mexican food. While there are certain things I prefer about where I live now, I am really starting to miss San Diego, and California in general.
