Saw at 0:50 in this video, the vlogger drove onto a beach in La Jolla to offload his kayak. Anyone know where this spot is? I checked google street view, and it seems every street leading to the beach is blocked at the end of the street......

Didn’t bother watching the video because La Jolla Shores is where you can launch a boat off your trailer straight into the ocean.

Avenida de la Playa. You can drive right up and drop your kayak off on the beach, go park and walk back. I would suggest you start early during summer time, because the parking lot and street spots fill up by 9am

I kayak fished La Jolla for the longest time, I'm in a boat now. I would suggest the San Diego Kayak Fishing page on Facebook and Bigwaters Edge website for further info and fishing tips in La Jolla

Thank you both. I see it now. Little gap at the little corner. I kayak fish in Northern Cal. We have our specialty fish here but we have no yellowtail. Hope to do a trip down to SD soon.

Ummm, have you ever fought yellowtail before?
Them's the meanest, honory-est, rootin'ist, tootin'ist fighters of the 7 seas. (Sorry, just watched Yosemite Sam.)
NOTHING fights like yellowtail.

Post up pics of your tuna catch (better yet, invite us to your BBQ the next day!)

EDIT~ "Cars onto the beach" in San Diego, ain't happening. This isn't Pismo.

Your best bet is to get a small kayak cart with floatation tires to pull over the sand to get to the water.

If you can find parking the children's pool, aka seal pool is a good sheltered spot too. A big home guard will kick your ###. Bring your bigger gear.

Mission Bay has a couple of easy access boat ramps. I've seen pickup trucks drive right into the water at De Anza Cove Park. There's a similar boat ramp near Seaworld.

Closest yellows would be OB pier outside kelp. That's a paddle.

From where we dragged a car that was sand-bound. Be careful what you drive up there.

Is it net less effort to park near OB pier, haul kayak to beach, and launch from there to fish yellowtail?
