Is there any restriction on launching from here? I see some sea lions hanging out at adjacent sand beaches..... Or would it disturb other beach goers to launch kayak from here?

I've tried to help...you won't listen to me. Go to the Facebook page "San Diego Kayak Fishing". There is about three thousand people on that page, you can join and ask questions. They all fish La Jolla. Nobody launches from Shell beach....unless you want to rollo over and lose all your gear. Launch at the same beach in the video.

The number of days per year you could launch without turtling at the children's pool and point are probably counted on one hand. The problem is, later in the day conditions change. You might be looking for a life guard rescue if surf builds.
