Great neighbors there. I bet they do that purposely.

I wouldn’t say that, but the fact it flows into America and not Mexico plays into it. Too bad we can’t build a damm instead of another wall. It’s sad because I often surf in IB and haven’t in a couple of weeks because of the rain and now this. I mostly feel for the business owners and residents down there. I can go elsewhere, many residents can’t, nor should they have to, and the businesses rely on people coming to the beach.

It’s been like this my whole life and I doubt it’ll change anytime soon, short of building the facility and replacing the infrastructure ourselves. It’s been proven that giving them money for this won’t do any good. I know there is a federal lawsuit against the US and the IBWC brought by Imperial Beach, Chula Vista, and the Port of San Diego. I believe the Surfrider Foundation is in on it too. I haven’t heard much since our federal government tried to get it dismissed. Shocker

I am not excusing Tijuana in anyway by posting this, but SD too has large sewage spills into the ocean from time to time, as recently as two months ago.

The article says IB is closed to swimming a third of the year, or at least officially... I'm actually surprised it's not a lot more. The risk of a mouthful of nasty keeps me well away from the area. Sadly it's just not worth it.

Ok, aside from the one big turd on Coronado how's the smell?

Does the Bay have a stench yet? Any large, floating masses of corn sighted?

Build that wall Mr. President. Keep out the sewer soaked unwashed.
I live 5 miles east of IB, the air smells fine here at mi casa. If I had a 2nd story I could see the Ocean.
But there aren't that many seagulls or pigeons here, yet more wildlife because of the Otay Valley Regional Park. That sewage is awful. I read in the news some BP Agent lost an arm:

You guys really can't talk about wayward turds without it turning into politics?

Never mind, don't answer that.

This thread is about raw sewage from Mexico.

Why are we suing our own Govt when the sewage is coming from Mexico. Every time it rains all the trash and feces from the TJ canyons cascades down into the TJ river then back into the US closing our beaches for days, even weeks at a time.
