Hello

We were panning a 4-5 days trip down to Carlsbad/Encinitas around the middle of august

We were in Carlsbad 2 years and were not really impressed with the beaches. Are the beaches better in Encinitas and if so which ones and where should we drive to. We want access to the water where the waves may be smaller for our children

Thank you

If you weren't impressed with Carlsbad, not sure what it takes to impress you.

Torrey pines - Carlsbad, has bluffs and lagoons. But to be sure, it's a beach. With sand, etc.

Moonlight in Encinitas is pretty with decent parking.
La Jolla Shores has calmer waves.
Where are you visiting from?
If you are from Arizona or do not plan to mask / social distance & respect protect locals and fellow and vulnerable citizens, please stay home.

Basically all beaches are the same in CA. I give the edge to Laguna Beach.

La Jolla Shores is the best beach for small kids. Small waves and shallow water.

Bad parking situation though.... last time I went we couldn't find any parking anywhere and had to leave. We go a little further north now.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm from Palo alto

Make sure to tell people that go to live in Arizona from California not to bring their twisted voting principals

Hello

The last time we were there the beach was not clean and the beach 'shelved quickly which was kind of scary for the kids. Just looking for something a bit calmer for the kids
