I hope the Raiders move back to L.A. Why do they want to shares with us?

I agree. San Jose/Santa Clara is one of the very educated cities on the planet. We do not want to associate Oakland here.

Class, there are at least two points of deep irony in the above example. Anybody?

Is this stadium happening for sure? I keep hearing it is, but then I keep hearing about all of the hurdles they have to get past to even start building (?). Has the ship completely sailed on a stadium in SF? As an outsider (who has no feelings for the 49ers or Raiders), I think it's pretty stupid for their home stadium to be ~50 miles from SF. I do think there is something to be said about stadiums in/very near the main city.

Nice try:

Bachelors or Above San Jose: 31.6%
Santa Clara: 42%
San Francisco: 45%
Oakland: 30.9%
LA: 25.5%
NYC: 27.4%
Nationwide: 25%

Hmm Oakland doesn't look "uneducated" to me. It is beats the nation by 25%.

The Santa Clara city council (or whatever it's called) just voted in favor of funding the stadium, which will cost $850 million by the way.

Nobody I've talked to around here is really upset about this, pretty much everyone I know hates Candlestick for being dilapidated, in a crappy location and really windy. Most people will just watch the game on TV anyway. There's just not really anywhere to put an NFL stadium around here, SF is mostly built up and its NIMBYism is at full capacity so nothing will ever be able to get agreed upon. Santa Clara is a lame location but if they have the space for a stadium and the political will to build it, the team has no reason to not move. Might as well call them the San Jose 49ers though.
