I am looking for any current information (costs, type, and specifics) from any current homeowners who have built in Foxbrook, or any other close developments that needed to have septic installed on their property.

I am trying to figure out a rough budget for the building of a 3 1/2 bath 2500 sq foot home-finally have a house plan that my husband and I can agree on, now I am looking for prospective lots.

Have narrowed developments down to Foxbrook (which I need the rough septic system cost estimate for) and Twin Lakes which has public water and sewer.

Any rough figures would be deeply appreciated. We are from Western Pennsylvania and here sand mounds are running around $14,000 installed. So as to florida septic system prices and possibly issues with them we are clueless. Although I have seen instances on the net where people say stay away from anywhere that needs septic.

Thanks in advance,
Danyelle in Miserable Western PA

I can't tell you about costs but we have septic and not one issue here. Not yet anyway. I know at some point we'll have to have it pumped but it works just fine.

We installed a new 1,250 gallon baffled tank (good for up to a 4BR house I believe) and drain field in 2008. Total cost was around $7,500, but we got quotes up to $11,000.

Also, I would recommend you stay away from an aerator septic system if at all possible. Some communities require them, but they are nothing but headaches.

Default Thank you all so much!

Thanks so much to everyone that answered my question. It is deeply appreciated!

I have seen info regarding the aerator septic system, and yes it was all negative...

My brother in law lives in eastern pa, and they came up with what they call a "drip system" for people who's current septic system fails, and don't have enough property to install a sandmound on. He is on his second drip system within a 6 yr period from installing the first one, since his septic went bad and seeped into his basement 2 years after he bought his house (it was an older home)... Yeah it's a drip system alright, just drips ya dry financially...

Again, thanks so much.

I have to tell you, the people in florida are seem so much nicer, and happier vs. where we live in Western PA!!! Kudos to ya's!
