Re: GT. More than once I tried to get in bc of the other ppl with me ((not a fav of mine by a long shot) and same situation. Long line of half-hour or more. I didn't wait. Last time went from there to J. Harris. Ten minutes later sitting and drinking my martini.

If one wants to wait..try the bus stop not a burger joint for dinner.

Default Not quite food but wine....

I dicovered that wine store in Hab Vill after going to the Japanese rest. I'm reallly impressed! 5-6 aisles of wines. Would be impossible if you couldn't find what you want in there.

The burger at the 5-Spot was probably as good or better than GT's, though not from free-range beef.

Habersham Village has become Savannah's best dining destination outside of the Historic District.

Had the pleasure of dining at the new Moe's in the Cay Building on Ellis Square last night, beautiful restaurant with great views of the streetscape. Excellent Tex-mex food as always! Employees told me that they'll be open until 3:30 am on Fridays and Saturday's -- an fantastic addition to the late-night (after hours) dining scene downtown!

Noted to top of list for restaurants next month's trip.
Thanks!

An interesting read regarding restaurants is the "Restaurant Inspection" column of the Sav. Morning News.
BTW Green Truck is not so "green" with a "C" rating.

Off topic, but anybody else noticed that the SMN no longer does that weekly crime report page -- with the big locator map? Guess it became too much work keeping up with all that crime ...

The large space at the prime corner of Bull and Broughton previously occupied by Saigon has been leased and demolition is already in progress. Don't know if this is going to be retail or restaurant, but either way it attests to the extreme vitality of downtown right now.
