I've built this google map where I'm mapping neighborhoods and will probably take notes as I go in my future search.

Something that snuck up on me was that Savannah (at least downtown) has been fully photographed at a street level by Google.

Go to google maps and you can at the top right select street view. Choose a block you want to "stand" on and you will see inline a photo of the street from that vantage point. You can also turn 360 from there as well. They are a little blurry due to high back lighting, but still might help w/ the basic question of "good/bad neighborhood" that many people have been asking on this forum.

My map for reference is here: http://tinyurl.com/6fgp9j (broken link)

just go to maps.google.com and then type in Savannah, GA then at the top right use the "street view" option. If "my map" url didn't work. hmmm? that's interesting. It should have. It's been working for me on many different browsers.

Ok, you were right, that old TinyURL didn't work. But this one is tested and confirmed!

Hmm, parts of it look good. I think Midtown is in an odd place, though.

I occasionally think of it as lying between Ardsley Park and the Victorian District. But I've also thought of it as being south of Ardsley and north of Derenne.

The good areas and bad areas are in smaller patches. I'll have to look and think about this more later.

Hi Ellie,
any help would be useful to all of us relocators.
As for the neighborhoods, they come from the Chatham Police sheet I mentioned in a different thread. They are not my doing. -- dave

I love this link. I tried it for my old hometown, but it's not available.
