What tours would you suggest to take while in Savannah. My sister and I will be there in February.

I have taken the historical tour on Olde Towne (sp?), Old Savannah and Oglethorpe Tours. All of them were interesting and each tour guide had new info to offer, so you never quite get the same tour twice.

However, I had never used Oglethorpe until about a month ago when we had family visit. We used them because they are half the cost of the others and seemed to have a lot to offer, so we gave them a shot. I LOVED IT!

The other two are great and entertaining (usually), but give romanticized accounts of the historical facts. They are interesting, but not always completely accurate. Oglethorpe skips a lot of the fluff and gives a LOT of information. That's what I like about them although you might prefer the former.

Another thing I really liked about Oglethorpe:
Although all these companies provide 90 minute tours, the other two I've used are stop and go for 90 minutes while people get on and off. It can be distracting to the stories and you don't really get 90 minutes worth of touring due to stopping and starting every 7-10 minutes to let people on and off. Oglethorpe gives a full 90 minute tour and then provides on-off service for the remainder of the day. And you don't have to wait on the next trolley to approach to see if there are enough seats for your party...you call Oglethorpe and they come get you with a bus that has enough seats for your party.

Trust me, when it is pouring down rain and no one is getting off the bus, you don't want to be one of the poor souls hoping to catch a ride while getting drenched (seen it happen from onboard a trolley and felt sorry for the poor people hoping to catch a ride). Also...using OT we called from a trolley stop with passengers waiting on each of the other company and a bus arrived to pick us up because their trolleys ever got there! SCORE! Plus you can just tell them where to take you rather than wait until your next stop rolls back around.

I would also recommend a ghost tour while you're here, but the only one I went on was hokey, so if I find a good one, I'll let you know.

Wow...wordy aren't I?
