Yeah elk, I find it very friendly up there. Went to 4th of July fireworks there this year complete with very tight AC DC and Zeppelin tribute bands. It has an old school quality that is hard to find these days. Picked this place up when the market was down. Thinking of cashing out in Seattle in about 10 years, buying a little place in Portugal and living in my Everett place. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1...38492655_zpid/

Very cool, homes. We're probably going to retire here in Alamo, but, and it's a fairly large but, I can't get the idea of retiring outside of the U.S. out of my head. Portugal, Malta, Peru...I need ta connect with some expats we've done the deed and moved outta here and are living the dream.

Do you trust the medical system outside of the U.S. ta be able ta take care of you and yours who may go with you? I think I do, and, what's more, I already head to Mexico for my dental care now. It works well and saves me about 5/6ths of the cost of dental care. What are your thoughts about medical care in other countries?

We wouldn't retire to Portugal, just have a place there and here, Airbnb the Portugal place when not using it. We love Porto, the second largest city in Portugal. Incredibly friendly people.

It's just not a lively or vibrant city like the cities on the east coast. Even Atlanta and Nashville are more vibrant and lively

It seems like LA now, except with a lot more rain and fewer Latinos. I suppose that's what happens when everyone leaves California and wants to recreate it somewhere else with lower real estate values.
