I went out last night for the first time in downtown and I definitely noticed a lot of cute girls( not too many pretty girls here) with in my opinion very average, basic even, black guys. It was almost like they got women because they were black not for being attractive or anything (I'm a female). So I don't think you'll have a problem.

I didn't appreciate the way it was promoted in Seattle's advertisements and by the powers that be. As if men of European descent are the only race who like Asian women.

That wasn't the only social engineering that was going on in Seattle from what I saw, but I don't want to take this thread off on my own personal tangents/hangups, so I'll leave it at that.

I know that cultural or ethnic differences can really get to people. I had a work friend who was black, who told me of a relationship she had with a white guy. In the end, she broke it off. She told me she couldn't get past the race thing. She was as nice and open a person as you could ever meet.

I have met interracial couples who seemed happy. I think the thing that works for people is commonality. You get to know someone from work or something, or from a science fiction convention or school and their personality and views dovetail with yours. They make you smile. You find you can really talk to them. At that point, race and ethnic background probably won't matter much.

I agree. If I got along with someone and we had things in common, I could easily date any race, so as long as they weren't a descendant of Europe.
