Seattle has too many people and is too expensive.

Seattle - I'd rather stay home and do nothing then fight traffic.

Seattle is an acquired taste or a culture you were born into.

I always read people's complaints about how cold or aloof people are in Washington state. After living almost 13 years in NYC, I think I actually prefer the "Seattle freeze." Most of the friendly chat that people are so eager for seems pointless to me. It's chatting because silence makes you uncomfortable. Chatting with people most of whom you will never become close with, just because it's the polite or friendly thing to do. Can't wait to get back to the PNW and live amongst its "cold" denizens again.

Seattle is a super sprawled out metro area.

I swear, I drive LONGER distances here in the Puget Sound area than I have in Los Angeles County area.

I occasionally drive from Puyallup to Lynnwood or Kirkland to visit friends and relatives, and dang, it's 54 miles from my place to Lynnwood! 37 miles from Puyallup to Kirkland!

That drive to Kirkland is equivalent of me driving from downtown L.A. to Orange County!

Well said, Minntoaz. Your words are particularly true as people are moving here from all over the world. It is what you make it.
