A poster mentioned how chill and laid back the SEattle area is- as long as you agree with them politically. This thread is proof of that- not exactly "chill" and "laid back" towards the OP is it? Not exactly welcoming.

Two things:
1. An internet forum isn't representative of actual people. You'd think that Seattle was very Republican given that they are more vocal on here. People only bring up politics outside of election time if they want an argument, those are the kind of people you should avoid regardless of their opinions.

2. OP said a load of weird untrue things and people called him out on it. I don't know what the chill method of calling someone an intentional liar is.

Right. And from the title of his original post "have me terrified of moving the Puget area"
There is over 4.2 million people in the "Puget area", men, women, kids, seniors, differing race, ethnicity, religion, musical preferences and political leanings that are functioning just fine.

‘Here’s your check’: Trump’s massive payouts to farmers will be hard to pull back
The president was already spending double his predecessor to spare farmers the cost of his trade war. Now the price is reaching unsustainable levels.

Because people want to eat, and people need to be able to afford food. It costs a lot to produce food.

No farms, no food.

It's a different kind of liberalism here. It's not the kind that compromises or accepts divergent thought. And it's also prone to get violent. Different than the stereotypical open minded, caring types that you imagine.

No farms, no food.
Growing food is an industry like any other. Taxpayers are paying farmers hundreds of billions of dollars then BUYING the food on top of that. What other industry do we supplement to such an extreme? The amount of money being given to farmers is unsustainable by any measure. On top of that, those rural areas can't pay for their own infrastructure so their cities are likely supporting them the same way Seattle supports Eastern Washington. On top of that, they want taxpayers to pay for bringing them broadband. All so we can BUY the food. This all needs to be rethought. Areas outside of cities could be developed for growing produce and the urban areas should be able to keep they money closer to home.

Farmers are dumping so much food now it absolutely makes no sense for us to be sending them the billions we are now for the privilege of buying the food they aren't throwing away. The sizes of the checks being sent to farmers was printed a few months ago and some of them were over a half a million dollars and that was just one batch of Trump (tax) dollars.
