I like the sun too, but for me the PNW climate is worth it in that I rarely have to deal with driving on snow.

What I can't wait for is for the days to get longer again. Traveling is much more enjoyable when it isn't dark at 5 pm.

It's been a dry season, about half of normal:

https://www.ggweather.com/seasonal_rain.htm

Scroll down to the sections on 'July 1 to Feb 4'.

It would take a few "atmospheric rivers" in a year to hit the average. It's bursty though, feast or famine (drought or deluge):

https://www.mid.org/weather/historical.jsp

And for some scary reading, here's the great flood of 1862:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Flood_of_1862

"The event dumped an equivalent of 10 feet of rainfall in California, in the form of rain and snow, over a period of 43 days."

"The storm was not an unprecedented occurrence. Geologic evidence has been found that massive floods, of equal or greater magnitude to the 1861–1862 event, have occurred in California roughly every 100 to 200 years."

Eventually it will happen again, of course, and it's been 160 years.

It's not often windy in the winter and there are a lot of dry days outside of November - February.

Wind on its own is fine... Rain on its own is fine...

But wind + rain isn't pleasant to drive around in.

I love the cooler weather and cloud cover. The rain is soothing and comforting. It's the opposite of burning hot, merciless sun (my Kryptonite).

Everybody talks about the weather but nobody does anything about it.

There are plenty of dry days Nov--Feb, too(usually). If there weren't, people wouldn't be able to go skiing, and yet, they do. Seattle isn't in a rainforest. The rainforest is hours away, out on the coast.

Really, it is not all that much fun and eventually gets pretty old.

We don't spend a lot of time visiting Art Museums, (we are out working in the mud).

farming, orcharding, raising livestock, building houses, installing pipelines, pouring sidewalks...

I vote that libraries, schools, and art museums, (and other places equipped with lighting) ONLY be open when it is dark outside, so we can work all day in the mud and later go to the library or art museum.

I miss a 24 hr Home Depot. Better to shop during the dark rather than during daylight while you are paying your crew to stand in the mud and wait for you to go buy a few small items, and drop by the Art Museum.
