People don't go skiing when its raining or snowing?

According to climate records, Seattle gets precip at least 15 days a month from October through April, December and January the highest at 20.

That doesn't mean it rains nonstop on those days. There are a few days each winter month where it rains a lot and the rest are mostly showers.

Really, it is not all that much fun and eventually gets pretty old.

We don't spend a lot of time visiting Art Museums, (we are out working in the mud).

farming, orcharding, raising livestock, building houses, installing pipelines, pouring sidewalks...

I vote that libraries, schools, and art museums, (and other places equipped with lighting) ONLY be open when it is dark outside, so we can work all day in the mud and later go to the library or art museum.

I miss a 24 hr Home Depot. Better to shop during the dark rather than during daylight while you are paying your crew to stand in the mud and wait for you to go buy a few small items, and drop by the Art Museum.
Thanks, but I wasn't posting to you. I'm really curious as to where the OP lives (or works) in the Seattle area, that there's "mud everywhere", and moss growing on sidewalks.

Right. 15 days/month is only half the time. Then there's the other half the time.

We can be grateful that the areas climate tends to be moderate. We lack those broiling hot summers of the Southwest. We lack the Arctic winters of the Midwest. Really...how many places anywhere in the world have a mild climate all year round?

And Seattle is not even that rainy. Not even close to the rainiest cities in the US. It's exactly the clouds that make it hard for many people.

On weekends when it's going to rain both days, we go out to the Cascades and ski or snowshoe. It's often clear skies and nice.
