How often do ice ages happen?
Interesting. But I think you are correct. We seem to live in a changing time. But the reality is change moves very slowly. We will not see glaciers in Puget Sound for another 10,000 or even 50,000 years. Yes will happen eventually but don’t throw your swimsuits out anytime soon.

I watched an interview today on YouTube.
The Alaskan waters have been so warm this last couple years to the point of a massive life collapse in the Alaskan King Crab and Snow Crab.
There is no longer a harvest season for those crab.
There are no plans for a harvest season anytime in the near future.
If this warm water was a fluke and returns to normal next year the crab will still need a few years to recover from this.

I spent a week up there on the inner passage last month and I only wore long pants twice.
Once for a formal dinner and once to go whale watching.
I experienced very warm balmy weather.

In the long term the crabs will probably have to migrate into the Arctic Ocean

Yes probably so,
as long as the northern habitat is suitable.

I am curious how it surveys biologically.
Does the area have enough food source to feed them?
Are they there already?
Will adding a new species the disrupt indigenous wildlife there?
