While im not bothered that NBC tells its viewers in metric or not,i have to laugh at it being lumped in with Myanamar, a country with an appalling record of human rights, and Liberia, once ruled by a man called Charles Taylor who got a degree from a US university.Taylor started a civil war, then when he had done with that forced people to elect him president, saying he would start another war if they didnt.Taylor had a love of unusual foods...........,like human flesh.!!!!The man was a cannibal.

He is currently serving out his 50 year sentence in Frankland prison, around 40 miles from me.Its high security and Taylor is in permanent solitary confinement for his own safety.

Does the US still want feet and inches with their Olympics???

It's a lot more elegant to say a man high jumped seven feet, six inches than to say he jumped 2.286 meters. A foot is, well, a foot. A meter is a mutated yard.

Stupid is, after all, as stupid does.

What's your real beef? Do you have a table of Olympic records that you're constantly checking, and are you perturbed that you have to keep doing conversions?
I memorize a lot of world records. It is my interest.

Case closed.
How many American viewers even care about jumping and throwing events? Just curious. 100 million viewers? Are you talking about Superbowl night?

No specific mod covers this forum but because of a report filed I out of curiosity looked at the most recent post on this thread to see if there were three posts in a row that were on topic. Heh, guess not !
