Since Washington County is under Red alert....People please prepare. Extremely dry so please rethink those fireworks. Also check on older neighbors if power goes off. Keep at least 1/2 tank of gas since pumps will not work without power, keep laptops and phones charged. Make sure you have propane to grill instead of using stove (most stoves are electric). Lastly keep some cash, not much maybe 25 dollars since atms won't work.

Stay safe

Do many people have generators? Would they help?

Yes, many people have generators. Of course they help...especially running swamp coolers. Still people need to be prepared, it recently happened in Mesquite, but only lasted about 15 min. That was long enough for the computer at Wendy's to go down and couldn't do a quick reboot, so they closed.

My ancestors helped settle that area. I could never live there year round. Too hot in Cedar City right now.

Thanks, Kcoliver. We just moved here and have never had a generator before, so I was unsure about how much good they would really do considering the high temps and ever-increasing usage.
