-4 with some unknown wind chill. Very unpleasant week. I work in the cold and on weeks like this by the end of my shift I'm ready to set myself on fire.
Snow hasn't been to bad here, maybe a foot total over the last few days. I've heard some awful stories of like the Pulaski area. The roads has been a sheet of ice since Sunday morning. Driving has been extremely poor, I'm not sure what if anything I would have them do different. Its just life in NY.
Last Friday was kinda weird. Me and a buddy went to Syracuse and while it was very very cold the Sun was out. I remember I had to get my sunglasses out of my truck. About 10 miles on the Thruway it started snowing like crazy, traffic was doing maybe 30 MPH. Driving around Syracuse was nutz, people were doing 10MPH and you couldn't see the lanes so they just drove wherever. I texted(I was not driving) my wife and asked how it was in Oneida and she said the Sun was shining still. Very localized storms.
The Thruway on Friday at the start of the mini-storm.
My phone can do LTE but I don't live where we have LTE. I was super happy to have it in Tampa a couple weeks ago but forgot to run some speed tests. Today I remembered to test it in Syracuse
iTunes saves all my speed tests from past iphones so I have tests from 3G,4G, LTE and WiFi.
3G sucks. Ain't no way to put lipstick on that pig.
4G runs about twice as fast. Better.
LTE is better then twice as fast as 4G. Still a fraction of my home WiFi but pretty damm good for a cell phone.
Syracuse people should use the LTE to sell the city over the hinderlands. Nice little plum to many people.
Figgered I'd post here just in case anyone was ever looking for an apartment in Oneida.
Downtown is being bought up by NYC investors. Old office building are being converted in to living space. They are pre-rented long before they are completed.
I've been on the site today as kinda a consultant. Just playing on my phone with ya all. As these are section 8 my helping out puts me on shakey moral ground. I do it more to kill time then needing money and I like construction stuff I just can't afford to live on what it pays. Ill bet a dollar I'm the only one without an EBT card. I'm looking at some of the residents now and I can say things could never be bad enough where I would live here.
This unit is a dump. You couldn't possibly buy cheaper materials. The view is other crack houses. Within walking distance is a Byrne dairy for Choreboys and that's it. Rent is 850 for two tiny bedrooms, 8x10 each. That does included heat and Christ do you get your money's worth. It has to be 90 in here.
And like u said they can't build them fast enough. Buy the building for pennies. Put pennies in. Cash checks. What a life. This one building has paid for itself during construction. And should generate over a million dollars cash in 10 years. NY really is a dairy state. Just put your pail under the teat and start milking.
