Very good tips and thank you! Consider each and every one will be utilized I knew about the trail but that is about it. I only knew about that because it is literally just a few steps from the door. I am bringing my battery operated kids scooter with me...lol...they are in there 20's now and it still works. This old 50 year old is going to check that trail out without having to pedal in the heat It is good since I have a bad back anyway

Thanks again...I am going to follow up on all those other tips!

I have a 4 mile walk/bike/crawl() path out my front door though. Can stop and skip stones, fish, eat snacks, take pics,...yada...yada. I think anyway. I have not done it yet but will later in the week. I hope it is a great trail/path. I have Maximo park also to walk/hike/crawl()

I'm considering buying a house near that area. My daughter lives on campus at Eckerd and I am bummed to hear that that area 54th and 31 st, right near campus, is not a very safe area. Any other opinions about good/bad neighborhoods near there?

I too am interested in the area down by Eckerd, and Feather Sound area and concerned at what I am hearing. I am moving there in 2 weeks (51 YR old WW) and I was hoping to be close to Ft DeSoto to take the dog to the dog beach there but I need to be safe getting from car to door and going to the grocery/gas store. I too appreciate all input on this thread!
