Re: FishHawk Ranch-Lithia

I hope I am posting this in the correct place. I am considering a move to a more northern location in Florida from the South Florida area. There is a new townhome community being built at FishHawk Ranch that has me interested and would be in my price range. We will be visiting over winter break. I know the public schools there are excellent, which is very important to me, but does anyone have any personal experience with the schools there to give me a better feel? I believe that if we moved there, the middle school my son would attend would be Randall & the high school Newsome. Also, would the HOA fees be very high? I had visited the area a few years ago...was completely stunned by its beauty, and I'm so glad they're building affordable homes there in my timeframe. Thank you.

The schools in the area are very good, however, be aware that there is a new development that is in the immediate area that will add another 3000+ homes. While there will most certainly be more schools built to accommodate the additional homes, there is little or nothing being done to address the access issues in the are.

If you plan on commuting outside the immediate area, good luck. Traffic is nothing short of hellish, and is only going to get worse as more homes are added.

Default Lithia--FishHawk

Thanks so much for responding. WOW! What is this 3,000-home community being built? Would it still be in Lithia where the schools are good? I am on Disability and trying to get a work-from-home job, so the homes would have to be in the same price range as the community I'm interested in in Fishhawk. Thanks again.
