Is there a noticeable difference in traffic during the summer months after the snowbirds head home? Thanks

Not so much in Tampa, but in Pinellas county and Sarasota you will notice a difference.

Ok another question. I keep reading about this horrendous traffic. Is it really that bad?? Like is it just bad during rush hour or is it bumper to bumper all the time??

It's REALLY bad during rush hour, other times not so much but you have to re-learn how to drive when driving in the Tampa area, people are pretty much all offensive drivers in the Bay Area, atleast they were when I lived there and when I was down on vacation last October..

Last October when we were there, no lie, traffic was backed up at 7am from Downtown all the way to Lakeland on I-4 and we didn't notice any wrecks..

I'm a yankee so I know all about offensive driving! Sounds like I should do ok there then. The way people drive in Nashville makes me crazy..I need a change!

It depends on where you are coming from. Coming from Chicago, no it's not bad at all. If you aren't coming from a bigger city, then yes, it's bad. It's all relative and also depends on where you are traveling and at what time. It's also just during rush hour, except for the occasional wreck.

Agreed. All depends on point of reference. In NYC, driving was pretty bad all the time. So far, this has been very easy - by comparison.

Where do you think all these bad drivers came from??? They wern't born here!!

Depending where you live, the traffic gets lighter after the birds go home, around Easter...

Tampa is a city that has failed time and time againt to anticpate future infrastructure needs.

I think/hope the new I-275 expansion may finally bring a much needed alleviation of traffic.
