MuchLove:

I am also relocating to the area Sept 18th from Seabeck, WA (about an hour NW of Tacoma) I am staying with family in Orlando while I look for work and a place to live.

Tampa, St Pete, Clearwater are my top picks for places to live. Can anyone tell me what the jobs are like. I am a professional so I think finding a job will be relatively easy, or am I being too optimistic?

Any suggestions from those of you in the Tampa area would be great -

You're being too optimistic. Jobs are hard to get in the Tampa area and the pay is low. Too many people looking for jobs. Crime is bad too.

Stay in Washington dude please.
I went to the NW (Portland) and I didn't wanna leave. The weather is nice, not hot and humid like it is here. FL to me is icky and any town outside of Tampa will most likely be more backwards than many places in Washington even and more crime like Georgia said. I lived in FL for 4 yrs and I can say, be careful what your coming to. Not to scare you but its true.

Washington is nice for a few months out of the year however, from October-May we have rain and clouds. I miss not seeing stars at night and having some sun to perk you up. Washington is beautiful but definitely hard to live in.

I am originally from the East Coast (Boston) and spent my younger years in St Pete during the school summers.

Georgia: Maybe I am being optimistic but its better than thinking my glass is half empty. If I go into an interview with your attitude; I would surely be unemployed. Somewhere in the State of Florida there must be a job for me

Keeper: I work in the Assisted Living Field, mainly Sales/Marketing; its a specialized field but I can also do the same in other types of communities or even Hospitality.
