I am very proud of what I stand for politically and if the subject came up with someone I met there, I didn't know if what I stand for would be accepted or challenged. That's the only reason I brought up politics. Lastly, I have spent some time - a few months in NC, not Asheville (I may check it out, thanks) but I did not like where I was staying in Charlotte. Clearly, as you can tell from my screen name - my dream home is Boulder, Colorado. To me, it's pure perfection. Thanks again!
I'm assuming you were talking to me even though you said JBT instead of JMT.

If you like Boulder, you'll probably like Asheville. Asheville is NOTHING like Charlotte, trust me. It's very liberal and is right smack in the middle of the mountains.

Well, that was rude TOB. I am actually a VERY good reader in more than one language. I missed one word in that entire thing, whereas you misspelled almost every word in your response to me so please don't talk to me about being uneducated, thanks.

ALSO, this is what you posted:
"Anyone coming on a public forum that has mixed political bias," that could be read in two different ways. One way, which reads that the forum is the thing with the mixed political bias, or, that the person coming onto the forum does. That's why it was confusing. Be more clear and don't be such a dick.

Lastly as I previously stated, "Hooch" is Heroin, which you snort or shoot. Not pot, which you smoke. If you think it's funny, it's not - you're unbelievably obnoxious.
I don't want anyone thinking that I shoot heroin, thank you.

Oops! I'm sorry for the name error. I was talking to you! I will look into Asheville, thanks a lot. I love, love, love Mountains.

Tennessee or Bust,
Are you the only one you want tons of personal freedoms for? If you think I was up on a soapbox by what I said in my earlier post, I can't wait to hear your POV after a few years in Tn. Especially if it happens to be a small rural town you bought your land in.
Pam

PAM! I am also basically living in Columbia County (Old Chatham)! I absolutely love it. My boyfriend's Mom got a beautiful house there and we are almost always there.

Some how that doesn't shock me. You are a liberal and Mom & Dad are republicans. Anyway, that is neither black or white. But, if you want "peace, love and happiness", coming/going to Tennessee isn't going to make things better. Try Vermont..much closer to you and very similar thought processes. The fact you talk about going to Amsterdam and marijuana shows me you are in fact very young, immature and still need to grow up a bit. So you'd fit in quite well with the extreme liberal mindset that has ruined the state of Vermont!

GRNMTNFIRE:

What does not shock you? The fact that I am a liberal when both my parents are republicans? All six of my siblings are also extremely liberal, what is your point? I did not say I want peace, love, and happiness. I have all of that - happiness is a state of mind, it wont come from moving to another place.

Vermont is not ruined, Vermont is still very beautiful and I have considered it plenty of times - we actually might be there for 6 weeks because my boyfriend is applying for an internship. Vermont may be expensive but that does not "ruin" anything. Every Republican assumes that if taxes go up, then the value of the state goes down. That's not true. And can everyone stop saying "like you," or "you people." I am not a group of people, I am one person. I am one liberal. I am not all of them. So stop grouping me with them.

Also, mature people go to Amsterdam, too. There is a spectacular culture there that people fail to realize, or ignore - it just so happens they sell spectacular pot too. But of course, ignorance is bliss. You don't want to see the amazing things the Netherlands have to offer because then you'll want to go - all you see is the drug factor, which is again - ignorant.

Tell me, too, why do I have to grow up a bit? I am actually very mature for my age. Just because I smoke pot and travel does not make me immature. I have been through college, I have been through a whole hell of a lot more than most people I know, I have a job that I love which pays WELL over what anyone my age normally gets paid, I am moved out and 110% self-sufficient, I have NEVER taken money from Mom and Dad, I spend and I make my own money. I pay for my own school, apartment, insurance, groceries, everything. I don't drink and drive, nor have I ever, I rarely even drink, I don't party EVER, I keep to myself and my boyfriend and all my friends live 5 hours away in Buffalo, I get along with everyone I know, I am very secure, well-educated, and motivated. I don't know one person my age who is doing all that I am. So, tell me again, how am I immature? Thanks for passing judgements but it's just not the case.

I don't understand why this thread even exists. If you love colorado then move to Colorado! Go in the spring so you can live in a van if need be. By the fall you will be employed & settled. If you aren't then maybe you aren't as bright or on the ball as you purport to be. I believe you will have a bad attitude unless you are in the place you'd love to be. If you get there and still have a bad attitude then it's time for some soul searching.

This has to be the dumbest statement ever!
Maybe its because Republicans pay the overwhelming majority of them, and Democrats recieve the overwhelming majority of them!

If your parents are republicans and raised seven liberals, they really dropped the ball!I can understand maybe one or two sheep (pun intended) wandering away from the flock, but all seven?Sounds like your parents are a couple of RINOs with liberal values!

My oldest child (my daughter)is 19 and the two of you are polar opposites, she is entering her third year of college in a few weeks (3.8 GPA biology major)she is a registered republican, extremely conservative like her dad, never experimented with drugs of any kind,

Her boyfriend who I have known for five years (he practically lives at my house)is also entering his third year of college this fall(enviremental science major)also is drug free and extremely conservative,in large part because of my influence.

My 7yr old son is to young to have an opinion, but I am confident that with the (right) nurturing he will know right from wrong. These kids along with my wife of 25 years will be coming to TN with me,and we will all be bringing our voting fingers with us!

Please do not tell me my kids are useing drugs and I am to naive to know it,I used to be a big pot smoker when I was a kid, never a liberal though!

When I was a kid (like you)weed was hooch, heroin was smack, and coke was crank, there was no such thing as crack yet,so do not call someone ignorant because they use different terminology than you,its not like you can look the definition up in the dictionary !

And yes I am a crazy SOB,but not in a bad way!I am actually a very nice guy, that is extremely concerned with the direction this country is heading.

Socialist Amsterdam actually would probably be the perfect location for you,I am sure with your views you would fit right in.

This is the last reply I am making in this rediculous thread,so go ahead and attack my intelligence some more I will not reply.
I graduated HS in 1981 and I do not use spell check,I really am not that com****r savvy, nor do I care to be!
