I would be absolutely horrified if I were to be forced to put them on the front of my Ferrari or my Maybach.

Yeah they look ridiculous on my Lamborghini Gallardo Spider and my Bugatti Veyron Supersport.

I've been ticketed before for not having a front plate. (Way back in the day, my husband thought it made his Oldsmobile look ugly...if only it was that easy to take the ugly off an Olds).

I was pulled over a couple of months ago and the reason given was that the dealership frame on the license plate partially covered the "Texas". I told the cop I thought that the state had decided dealership frames were exempt from the law, and mentioned that we'd been driving the same car with the same frame for the past ten years, and he was the only officer who had ever had a problem with it. He wrote me a warning and that was it.

I thought that in Texas now, only one plate was required. Last year they only sent one plate to me.

Then why did they only send me one plate? I also noticed that other cars with new plates only have one on the back.... Baffling. They only gave me one d*** plate.

I got a warning many years ago for not having one. Really made me mad. It was my husbands car and he refused to put one on it when he moved to Texas from New Mexico. He drove it for about 18 months before I got stopped. Wouldn't you know, he never got stopped, just me.

HAHAHAHA!!! Just do what I saw on an Olds awhile back. Remove all the Olds logos and decals and stick Lexus ones on it. It was a sight to see for sure. FUNNY!!!!

You should have recieved two plates. I'd call them. When we got our new ones for the Suburban last year they mailed a set for front and back.

That figures. I hope he paid for it and let you splurge on something for yourself because of it.

As someone else said, with the cities seeing budget shortfalls I would not be surprised if they started pulling over more people and giving out tickets for not having one. I've noticed more cities radaring for speeding in the last year and with the budget crises coming on I would not doubt one bit they would be looking for anything they could to get more revenue.

One reason why they want everyone to run a front plate is because of how reflective they have made the plates. It is easier for the signal from radar and lasers to bounce off your license plate and back to their devices than without the plate, thus revenue being the biggest reason for them not doing away with the whole front plate thing like other States have done. There have been independent tests done to prove the higher rate of reflectiveness and the increased effectiveness of speed detecting devices.

PPS troopers wil esepcaily give you a tcket if tis missing. You will also find they are more into enforcing absured license plates. Kind of natrual since traffic law is their major job.
