He says that because he knew the DFW stood no chance of getting a shuttle anyways. He's enjoying every moment of this.

People in Seattle hoped to get a shuttle (for the boeing museum of flight) as well; they even spent 12 million dollars on a new exhibit space readying for a shuttle. It didn't happen and that's the way it goes. I don't see anybody in Seattle acting like some of the people here. I think you would be smart to blame your weak lobbyists, not the president. This may be of the upmost importance to some of you but I doubt this is even a blip on the president's radar screen.
in other words: don't take it personal, others wanted a shuttle too & they didn't get one, and yet we go on....

How hard is it for people to understand that Houston has contributed the most to the shuttle program? Seattle, even though it is the former home of Boeing, doesn't compare to what Houston did. Besides, Seattle is stealing the training shuttle from the JSC.

If true, leaders in Texas should be pursuing an investigation.
Nasa is just spread different items through out the country for more people to view. Only one simulator is going to Chicago. One is actually going up the road to College Station. JSC is keeping some items for viewing also.

I'm not comparing anything to anybody (except of course the whiners here to small children). Jeezus, snap out of it, some folks here are just plain pathetic.

Not quite Bub. Bush is the one who cancelled the shuttle program! Check your history - he and his administration put an end to the shuttle program, years ahead of it's planned completion. He jumped the gun after Columbia broke up, and put an early end to the shuttle program before even all the resulting safety improvements were made.

Besides, the president isn't even the person who decides where the retired shuttles go anyway, so that makes no sense.
