So, Im a 22 year old student currently. Im trying to get into a college in TX...I live in Simi Valley, CA which is about hmmm 30 minutes north of Hollywood/Los Angeles. Ive grown up here my whole life and want a change. Its WAY too expensive out here for me to live on my own and I feel that CA is slowly pushing me out. Im sick of living with my parents and I want to move somewhere affordable and fun. I heard TX is a great place, I dont mind the weather...minus the tornado warnings...pretty scared about that We only have earthquakes out here. But your housing is so affordable! Anyways, what cities do you texan natives recommend? I know people think Im crazy for wanting to leave Los Angeles, but its too expensive and people are STUCK UP! Plus...gas is $3.49 for regular! Gah! So any suggestions guys??? I want a fun city, lots of singles, but good for schools. Thank you!!

I will take pictures of where I look and post up what I think about the areas. Hope you find what your looking for.

I would stick with Houston, Austin, or Dallas only ... that will probably lessen the culture shock ... a little anyway!

Austin is probably where you want to land, but gas is expensive here, too (never mind it's Texas and we all have oil wells ). But it fits the rest of your criteria.

think of School first...

SMU?
TCU?
UTD?
Texas tech?
UTEP?
Univ Houston?
Univ Dallas?
think of school first, most cities will have party scenes...
