Also, question for Dallasites. I know it isn't like this now, but when I was a kid living in Dallas, the Trinity smelled like sewage. You'd smell it as you drove over the bridges. This was like 25 years ago, any idea why it used to smell back then?
The Trinity River has been one of the most polluted rivers in Texas for over a hundred years.. It was especially bad in the past but its still in the top 1/3rd most polluted rivers in the state.

Not long ago there was a slaughter house dumping pig guts into it. It was all over the news.

The Trinity River is dammed and controlled, if left uncontrolled it could flood parts of North Texas during heavy rain. Every lake in North Texas is fed by the Trinity River and its tributaries. Yes, those big beautiful lakes such as Lake Ray Hubbard, Lake Lewisville, White Rock Lake, etc. is apart of the Trinity River system. I truly believe if the river was in its natural state if would have more water.

The blood was going downstream. It's Houston's problem now, since Houston drinks water from Lake Livingston.

Sorry, you're wrong. "Most of the Trinity's reservoirs, including Lavon Lake, Lewisville Lake and Lake Ray Roberts, are found north of Dallas and Fort Worth. In the middle basin, Lake Livingston is the primary water source for Houston."
