Always?? Might want to re-think that. Even with the v6 it's only running 0-60 in 6.6 seconds. Not too shabby but there are others around the same money that are quicker & handle better.
I race my 96 V6 camry with old ladies in Cadillacs all the time....and I usually win

V6 Camry is a high 5 second car today. The Mustang GT is faster and handles better, same price as an XLE V6, but that's not the definition of a stealth car. If you can think of anything that does mid-5s 0-60 that costs less than 30k and looks as innocuous as a Camry...?
If you buy the Camry V6, you will be kicking yourself when gas hits $6+ (if not higher) during the life of the car (and fuel will hit that price). The difference in real-world fuel economy between the 4-cylinder and V6 Camry is more like 4-5 mpg, not 1-2 mpg. The more stop-and-go, short-trip driving one does the more dramatic the fuel economy difference will be. It's simple physics: the V6 has more machinery flailing around (thus more friction in the engine) and has more displacement. That means more fuel consumption--especially at idle.
The Camry 4-cylinder has more than adequate performance for daily driving. It will cruise all day at 75 mph without complaint. My experience with Camrys is also all at above 5,000 ft. elevation and in a lot of mountain driving. Even with that more rigorous driving regime, they perform fine.
As others have noted, if extra performance is required, go for the hybrid. The initial cost penalty is not huge between the V6 and the hybrid, and the hybrid will gain you a lot of extra performance and still get fuel economy far above the V6 model.
A friend of mine traded a 4-cylinder Camry for a V6 a couple of years ago. He believed the 1-2 mpg fuel economy difference hype. He kicks himself now--every time he fills his gas tank.
V6 Camry still blows away any SUV for fuel efficiency.

For 30k I can think of a few the VW GTI/GLI for one. Just check out the link & look around. Your not looking hard enough. The v6 Mustang will smoke the Camry!

I'm just surprised that Camry is a high 5 second car especially considering it's wrong wheel drive. I would think the Mustang would drive and accelerate much more fluidly because it IS rear wheel drive whereas the Camry doesn't have that luxury.

I would think with what power the camry and the mustang have, driven wheels and traction would be less of an issue as neither car will spin the tires much.

Here is a new 2012 Charger R/T for $27,590 after rebate:
Heated seats, sunroof, 8" touchscreen media center, remote start, keyless start, etc. It will do 0-60 in 5.2 seconds or so and smoke the rear tires. Rated at 16/25, almost identical to a 5.0 Mustang.
