G MAN - our house had a heated pool option (we chose not to pay for the pool heat in July and didn't need it obviously). So get the pool heat in December. Of course the hot tub would be great in the winter.

You'll be gambling with the weather in December but you are also gambling with the weather in December in Panama City or Destin as well. We had AWFUL weather in Destin in mid March 2 years ago.
