^^haha yeah. He's rude and annoying which is too bad because he's clearly a fan of the show. I do think the show makes sure the folks are safe. The crew is there for/with them. They can't stop all the cat calling and jerky behavior but I believe they are safe from physical harm. Though in the past the women on the race have been groped on trains which is awful.
I agree no more India! The noise level alone for that episode gave me a headache. I seriously couldn't wait for it to be over. No to mention that it was boring. The tasks really weren't that challenging, unsafe and obnoxious, but not challenging.
I don't think that the cheerleaders got a pass per se.......she didn't do anything to lose those balloons. Someone grabbed the net and ripped it open letting all the balloons out. I don't think she should be penalized for that. She did the task and rode all the way to the drop off point. Really no advantage to her on this one. What was she supposed to do, stop and pick them all up? Go back and blow up a whole new set? That seems like it would be unfair.
I personally thought that the entire episode was unsafe.....especially riding a bike full of balloons in the dark on a major street. What were they thinking?
TAR is about people coping with a wide variety of different cultures and lifestyles, especially ones that are different from their own. If they didn't go to places like India, it wouldn't be an Amazing Race.
Of course it would. They don't go to India every season.
I interpreted the original objection to India as an objection to going to a place that's crowded and has a lot of poverty, not as a complaint about going to one country too often.
India reminds me of the movie Soylent Green. Lots of people standing around everywhere.
Bangladesh would be the same. Bangladesh actually has a larger population than Russia!

The objection to India is that the women have been groped and/or harassed by local men on several seasons.
True. Sometimes they double down on chaos and go to Bangladesh.
Ugh remember when they went to the shirt factory? I was appalled at the conditions and all I could think of was the big fire in Bangladesh a few years ago and all except one door was either locked or blocked. I wish TAR would be more conscious of the countries they visit and instead of doing something silly like balloons (seriously ) they would do something good for the communities. They do it in Africa like the schools they visit ...
