I don't find the Whisperers that interesting. The more they reveal about their background and personal lives behind the "mask" the less interesting I find them.
And I still don't see the advantage to walking with the dead as your primary schtick. It's a good skill to have when you're stuck in a herd, but not something to base your society on.
Who was the person that Alpha killed who Beta knew in his flashback and he uses his skin as his mask?
I don't blame Lydia, I would've screamed too! That was the grossest walker killing of a human I've seen in a long time!
I think it was Beta's son. There was a picture on the wall of the two of them together. After she killed him, he took the "smiley face" t-shirt that he was wearing and used his skin to make the dead mask that he currently wears.

As someone stated a bit earlier, it was Beta's best friend from the mental institution they were in.

Yeah I enjoyed the show last night but I still don't "get" these whisperers.
She's leaving at her request. She's going to be in another Avengers movie, and she's an award-winning playwright, incl a recent Tony nomination. She's rumored to be starring in the WD movie with Andrew Lincoln as well, so they can't kill her off in the WD television series.
There were some good touches last night - Carol in her dream seeing Lizzie and Mika on the picture, with her as the mother, Carol waking up to her son and Daryl (surragate father and husband?), pondering when the grocery store opens, the clock without dials.
Those little details keep me watching Walking Dead.
It's good to see that the undead can still be a strategic danger rather than just an annoyance. More perhaps than some middle aged lady and her group of losers walking around in dead skin (as it should be).
