Yeah, I would have made Billy's taped deceit much stronger and more heartless to have it make a bigger impact. He always came off as a d-bag anyway...he's a charlatan motivational speaker anyway! (not really believable, he seems like an emo/frat-boy combo who hasn't really grown up 20 years later).

He did ask her if she was with that Billy guy. Guess we'll never know!

I am also a little confused about that. I am of the understanding that there were a couple "real" RUNs before the fake one for the book.

Laurence is an enigma, more out of neglectful writing than by design.
There was angry Laurence, prompted by Fiona's texting/phone escapades. Then the bitter version. Then the worried, semi-compassionate Laurence. We really needed more, and the show would have been better for it.

Babe throws her car keys to Laurel and says, "go home."
They're hours away from home.
Babe is singlehandedly gonna deal with a felony suspect on a train that IIRC would require the participation of other jurisdictions. Not that I would need to see all those details like in 'Midnight Run' but we needed to see something. Uhhhh, nope.
Why would they be going to LA anyway if that's where Ruby lived?
