What has she earned, though, really? She had the good fortune to be born into a family that was arbitrarily designated as special, and through events not of her own doing, became the Queen of England. A title which is essentially symbolic and has no real governing power or authority.
I'm starting to think that there won't be any reconciliation between Harry and his family.

Notice how cold and cruel William and Kate behave towards Harry and Meghan, whom they hadn't seen in over six months, at that time. I'm willing to bet they show nothing but love for Andrew (who is linked to sex trafficking of minors with Epstein), but yet have so much vile contempt for both, Meghan and Harry. It really doesn't make sense.
Also, Harry's aunt was very cruel and attempted to intimidate Meghan with her wicked stares.
The look on Harry's face says it all. He's clearly had enough. I like however how Meghan kept her composure and showed pure class by smiling and letting them know that their evil antics had not and would not destroy her.
You don't always win by fighting. You don't always win by staying where you're unwelcome, digging your heels into the ground, and resolving to battle your enemies. Sometimes you win by walking away with your dignity and peace of mind intact.

Interesting. I could see the interactions you were speaking of. Very subtle, but there. Esp the woman in white (she's the aunt?). Very unfriendly, cold. I can't judge from this one occasion, but if it was getting to be like tis more & more often, they were not including Meghan as a welcome member of the RF. What I don't know is if they'd had a rift before this. Meghan said kind things about Kate during the Oprah interview, but Kate didn't even look toward Meghan's direction. Very odd.
It would be my inclination not to stay were I'm not welcome. She gave it a shot. It won't get better. But I don't see the big deal of them leaving official duties with the RF and moving elsewhere. He's a junior member w/o a lot of official duties, anyway.
I saw the wedding on tv and wondered how Meghan would fare, not having an active career. She had a thriving, busy artistic career, lots of friends, ability to make money & express herself & get a sense of accomplishment. Going from that to standing like a statue with a frozen smile seems light years away from what an energetic independent woman would be happy doing. But there's no doubt she and Harry love each other very much. Having seen the interview, I can see why Meghan fell in love with Harry the man. It's not just because he's a prince.
I don't know that I believe Meghan has been hatching an evil plan to rip Harry from the arms of the family for years. But I DO believe that she was arrogant in thinking that she would be able to live the same kind of life she lived as a single American woman. Anyone who has done even the slightest bit of research on the Royal Family knows that their movements are tightly controlled and they don't just jet off on a whim to see friends abroad or out to a club or whatever. Meghan seemed shocked that she had to shut down her own social media, for example. Well, duh. The Queen and the Palace don't want royals putting out their own personal views to the world, even if they are socially conscious views. The couple's staff manages their social media.
I think she honestly believed that she was not going to be as tightly managed as, say, Kate and was shocked when this did not happen. But that was pure arrogance and feeling of entitlement. And now she's mad about it. You can't want all the privileges of royal life and none of the restrictions. It's a gilded cage and I don't buy the story about her having no idea of that.
I don't think she expected to live life as a non-Royal, but she didn't expect the relentlessly horrid treatment she got from the press. Kate never had to go through that. They loved her, but every single thing Meghan said or did was criticized mercilessly. It was like she was Public Enemy #1 from the time they married.
She wasn't as tightly managed as Kate, because she wasn't ever going to be a princess. Harry is 6th in line and as such had a lot more freedom. Just like Charles' brother was able to date porn stars and go to parties at Jefferey Epstein's. He absolutely was allowed to jet off at a whim. Because he was never going to ascend to the throne.

One example, Kate used an Avocado for morning sickness and it was portrayed as a cute story about her. While Meghan's use of avocado's while pregnant had the headline "Meghan's beloved avocados linked to human rights abuse, drought, millennial shame". The double standard was insane.
That's not related to the post you responded to. Those people are taking a knee in support of a worthy cause that also supports the democratic ideal. They are not bowing to a person.
They are wearing Kente clothing which was originally reserved for Ashanti royalty. Since the topic was about Gia not valuing or respecting any monarchy, I thought perhaps she would be offended by that in addition to the fact that the Ashanti tribe was the largest slave trader in Africa. I guess not. Perhaps you were OK to gloss over that item as well in addition to the Democrats pandering to that. But, let's just complain about Queen Elizabeth instead and all of those who supposedly worship her.

Kate never had anything like the treatment Meghan did. And Diana was beloved and a sympathetic figure, until the divorce. They just wouldn't leave her alone.

This above is something I agree with. I don't worship my Queen (nobody worships the Queen, it's forbidden and it's silly and ignorant for some people to believe that any people worship the Queen - she's a Queen, not a God) but I do respect and love her as do the majority of the people of all 16 Commonwealth countries that she is monarch of. I have no qualms about saying I love my Queen, I have sincere affection for her and think she's a most excellent Grand Old Dame who has done a great deal of good and lifted up the Commonwealth Realms into keeping with the 21st century.
I'd be diplomatic and follow protocol and show respect for any monarch or foreign country's leader if I had the honour of being introduced, even if it was someone that I didn't personally care for. It's the right thing to do, to show respect for the position. But that's not likely to happen for me either - although I would dearly love to meet QE2 if given the opportunity.

Archie hadn't even been conceived when that comment was made. Per Harry, the comment referred to future "children" and took place way at the very beginning of their coupling - engagement/premarriage - probably came from Charles per the body language guys.
That said, it is common to wonder what your kids will look like - will they be blond, dark haired, tall, short. My brother and I are tall, thin. Our half sister (different mother) not quite as tall, grew very plump as she aged, exactly as her mother had done. To this day, I'll never forget a family I saw in a restaurant about 40 years ago - dad had very noticable flaming red, curly hair - a lot of it. And, lo and behold, next to him was a four/five year old boy, with flaming red, bushy curly hair. I had all I could do not to laugh out loud. Talk about the apple not falling far from the tree. So, wonderment on what the kids will look like is common and not necessarily racist. In these days of hyperbolic PC, however, even commonplace innocuous comments are read differently.
